Fenestration Installer Apprentice

ABOUT THE ROLE

Install Aluminium Windows / Aluminium systems to  form all or part of the external envelope of a building.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in compliance with occupational health, safety and  environmental requirements to ensure the health, safety and  wellbeing of self and others at all times.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, risk assessments, method  statements, programmes, systems manuals, regulations and  standards.
• Receive, handle, store, load, transport and position  materials and components safely.
• Prepare the site, materials and access equipment ready for  installation.
• Use the appropriate hand tools, power tools and equipment  to install curtain walling to industry standards.
• Install and fix grid work and data in line with specifications  – Identify and confirm installation requirements and  components.
• Conduct installation in accordance with manufacturers’  instructions and information and client requirements.
• Apply decorative face caps, gaskets or weather seals.
• Conduct interim and final inspections of the work to ensure adherence to specifications and project specific drawings  and work instructions.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Skills

• A valid CSCS card.
• Awareness of health, safety and welfare regulations, standards, and guidance and impact on the role of the team and other construction trades. 
• Communication: Communicating with colleagues, stakeholders, and using both written and verbal communication methods.
• Planning and Organisation: Planning work, carrying out  checks, and managing time effectively. 
• Problem-Solving: Identifying and escalating defects, faults, or issues. 
• Adherence to Standards: Complying with regulations,  manufacturer’s’ instructions, and quality standards. 
• Sustainability and Environmental Considerations: Recycling  and disposal of materials. 

Desirable skills

• Previous experience in Fenestration/Façade/Curtain Wall  Systems or adaptable construction related experience is  desired.
• Being able to read drawings, understanding construction  terminology.

Hours/Days of work & start date – 8am – 5pm (May also work weekends occasionally)
