What you'll learn

This course is to give parents and individuals the background knowledge and confidence to become an effective parent helper in school and /or to help their children’s learning at home. Activities may include tutor presentation, small group work, working in pairs, class discussions, short tasks and research. By the end of the course you should be able to: identify 3 ways children can develop their learning through play, list 3 practical strategies to support children’s development in literacy and maths, and list 3 practical strategies for encouraging children’s social, emotional and behavioural development.

Entry requirements

The course is free to adults (19 or over) that receive benefits and who are a resident of Hackney and Islington (London). No skills or experience is required as the course is for beginners and improvers, students will need a Level 1 qualification in English to join this course.

This online course is taught using Microsoft Teams
