What does this mean for me?

Our courses are normally taught in person. To keep people safe during the coronavirus pandemic, we're doing all our teaching online instead.

You'll need a computer or smartphone with a good internet connection.

New Creatives is a free programme for 16-21 year olds who are based in East London and want to access opportunities in the creative industries.

 

This is a targeted project for young people who are unsure about their next steps after covid, are not currently in full time education or employment and would benefit from creative connections with a positive peer group.

 

Module 3 of New Creatives will run in two parts as stated below and all participants will work on both.

 

Work Placements

Work placements are calculated at London Living Wage and paid as a bursary across the programme. Running over 2 weeks, a week in Oct & Nov

Mon 18th -Fri 22nd Oct – Work Placement Week 1 (10am-4pm)

Mon 22nd – Fri 26th Nov – Work Placement Week 2 (10am-4pm)

You will be given the opportunity to visit a range of creative organisations and gain skills in

  • Music management
  • TV and Film production
  • Events
  • Venue programming
  • Community arts facilitation

Take Over Festival

Participants will programme and plan their own festival over two days at Rich Mix in December. They will have the opportunity to create music, poems, drama, dance and artwork for the Festival and gain valuable skills in event management, marketing and technical as they will work and organise alongside those departments at Rich Mix.

Sessions will run every Tuesday and Thursday 10am-1pm starting on 21st September
