This course is for those who have achieved an Entry-level certificate or already have some computers skills and want to build their confidence using IT skills in an office or at home. Join this course to improve your IT skills and to learn more about File Management, Email and popular software packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Entry requirements

This course is for those who have achieved an Entry level certificate or already have some computers skills and want to improve their skills. You will also need to have a minimum of Entry 3 in English or ESOL.

To join a course you need to undertake an assessment. A tutor will check your current skills and advise you appropriately.

To access these courses you must be a Hackney resident and aged 19+. Priority will be given to those who are unemployed and in receipt of income-based benefits. Limited spaces are available for those who are employed.

To participate in this live online course you will need a computer with a microphone and camera, earphones/headphones/speakers, an Internet connection, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint 2007 onwards) and a Gmail account. You can work with any browser but the classes work best with Chrome.

This online course is taught using Google Meet

What does this mean for me?

Our courses are normally taught in person. To keep people safe during the coronavirus pandemic, we're doing all our teaching online instead.
