Learning online

Our courses are normally taught in person. To keep people safe during the coronavirus pandemic, we’re doing all our teaching online instead. We will return to face to face teaching when it is safe.

What you will need

You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone with a good internet connection.

Using Zoom

This short video will show you how to join a Zoom meeting that somebody has invited you to, on your phone or tablet. You should first download the Zoom app onto your device. Here’s the transcript to follow along with. If you have a computer, you should be able to join by clicking on the the invitation link you receive.

Using Google Meet

If someone’s invited you to a meeting or event hosted on Google Meet then you might want to watch this short video explaining how to join it.

Using Microsoft teams

You should receive an email with an invitation to join the Microsoft teams meeting for your course.

  1. Go to the meeting invite and click to Join Microsoft Teams Meeting.
  2. That will open a web page, where you’ll see two choices: Download the Windows app and Join on the web instead. You can join on the web without installing the app. Your browser may ask if it’s okay for Teams to use your mic and camera. Make sure you allow it so you can be seen and heard in your meeting.
  3. Enter your name, and when you’re ready, hit Join now.
  4. This will bring you into the meeting lobby. The organiser of the meeting will then admit you into the meeting.
