ABOUT SPANDELI

Spandeli, which opened its doors in 2012, is an independent Spanish retail shop selling fresh Spanish groceries and wines. Spandeli prides itself on being able to offer a personalised service of tastings and recipe advice to its local customers. It is currently adapting to a wine/sherry bar which gives customers an opportunity to explore the delights of Spain’s broad cuisine. Tucked away in the lost end of Dalston Lane, Spandeli also has a garden where you can enjoy some tapas and wine. 

THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for a person with a passion for food and hospitality. The role will consist of making and serving traditional paella on a stall in Mare Street, 3 days a week. You will have the opportunity to work alongside the owner, so you will have a mentor that will guide you through the process of making paella and building confidence in the hospitality sector. The role requires complete flexibility, and may present other opportunities for working in the Spandeli restaurant nearby.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE

– Flexible schedule as this will develop alongside the shop’s change of emphasis

– Passion for fresh food and working within hospitality

– Ability and attitude to present a friendly welcoming face of the company  

– Great attendance and punctuality

– Preferably some experience in this industry, although a determined attitude is the only necessity

– Be local to Hackney

MAIN DUTIES WILL INCLUDE

– Set up the stall and equipment

– Prep and clean the stations

– Cook paella

– Take payment for sales

 – Close down the stall
