Job Description 

 

Enthusiastic professional early years educators required for nursery in Hackney, E8. 

Maisie Poppins LTD is a multi award winning childcare company. We are highly reputable,  ethical and popular and have very high standards which we uphold at all times. We have a  ‘people before profit’ approach and our ethos is holistic and child centred. Our childcare is  

complemented by parenting support. We are now in a position to offer a very rewarding career  path to the right early years educators. Our nursery will be building up to a max of 44 children  over x 4 rooms over time. We need x 5 educators for 1-4/5 year olds. 

 

Skills required 

  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal. 
  • A respect and fondness for children and their rights 
  • Excellent communication and listening skills 
  • Excellent organisational skills to plan the children’s day and respond to children’s different  needs including SEND 
  • The ability to inspire and enthuse young children and staff 
  • Energy, resourcefulness, responsibility, patience and a caring nature 
  • An understanding of the needs and feelings of children 
  • Ability to work independently with children, as well as being able to work in the wider nursery  team 
  • A sense of humour and the ability to keep things in perspective. 
  • Very high standards 
  • Enthusiasm, dedication and love for the job 
  • Ability to form positive relationships with children, staff, parents and the local community and  work as a team
  • Understanding of the EYFS and ability to observe and assess
  • You’ll also need stamina to keep up with the needs and energy of a small group of young, lively  children
  • Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, arts and crafts are advantageous as is  SEND experience/awareness

 

Benefits and conditions of the role: 

  • Hours: 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day Monday to Friday 48 weeks a year
  • Salary: between £10.20ph (Current London Living Wage, which goes up every April) 
  • 5 weeks fully paid holiday a year 
  • 1 week sick leave at full pay a year 
  • Ongoing learning and development plan and training and monthly supervision 

 

Location: Mare St E8, Hackney, London 

 

Contract type: Permanent with 3 months’ probation period 

 

  • Working with and being supervised by a Manager/Director from a childcare background with full understanding of the role on hand
