What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the team to maintain the overall administrative functions of Vocational Learning
  • Assist students and other members of the ELATT community to access Student Support Services
  • Data entry
  • Data validation – error checking and correcting
  • Photocopying and scanning to support business needs
  • Filing and archiving
  • Answering and making phone calls
  • Supporting reception
  • Providing administrative support to teachers as required
  • Any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time

About You

  • Good organisational skills and can demonstrate an accurate approach to work
  • Proven verbal/written communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to work within a team and meet deadlines
  • A passion and determination to establish a career in office administration
  • Co-operative and flexible
  • Interest and ability to train on an appropriate qualification to support the role, if applicable
  • Fully committed to ELATT’s, values and objectives of equality of opportunity for all
  • Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area or equivalent qualification or experience is desirable
  • Good attention to detail
  • To be a self-starter, able to work on own initiative and use own judgement to problem solve
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to communicate well to customers
  • The ability to work as part of and between teams
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines whilst working under pressure
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and commitment to Equality and Diversity and how this has been applied in previous roles
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety as applicable to this role
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the education sector as applicable to this role
  • To have a flexible and can-do approach to work, including the need to travel between sites and occasional evening/weekend work
  • A commitment to own and others professional development
  • Experience in delivering whole-person support to students including signposting to support services and organisations desirable
  • Experience in funding regulations with regard to classroom and workplace delivery desirable
  • Experience of working in data management and data collection
  • Experience in using a student records system
