The Dusty Knuckle Bakery is recruiting for General Manager to be based in Haringey.

ABOUT THE DUSTY KNUCKLE BAKERY

The Dusty Knuckle Bakery is a purpose driven business which operates two busy sites serving very high quality food and drinks whilst also distributing bread and pastry to other businesses. Whilst we consider our products at TDK to be some of the best in London, we are about much more than just baking and cooking. TDK runs a youth training programme. We provide work-based mentorship/support, training, and employment opportunities to at risk youth, including those with offending histories. We believe in equipping trainees with the confidence, skills, personal accountability, and support network to develop productive, functional lives. We have worked tirelessly since 2014 to grow the business from a fledgling start-up in a 40 ft shipping container into a profit-for-purpose food venture with strong brand recognition and a loyal following.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To lead TDK Haringey (café and evening services); managing all staff and site operations, maximising profit, whilst ensuring all our customers, trainees and employees have a wonderful experience.

For the first time in 4 years, we have a General Manager role position available at our Haringey site. This is a leadership role; key to the success of the organisation and is one of only three other GMs in the company, working under the leadership of the co-founder/People Director.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to lead a team whilst developing their career in hospitality, in an organisation that priorities professional development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

PEOPLE 

  • Recruiting, training and setting standards of excellence for the whole team.
  • Directly supporting, developing and effectively communicating with the Head Chef, Head Barista and Assistant Manager Working directly with our youth training manager to ensure trainees are well supported and our Haringey training  programme hits projected targets.

FINANCES 

  • Managing budgets, sales forecasting, controlling all costs and ensuring the site is profitable.
  • Regular financial reporting to the Directors.  

BRAND & QUALITY 

  • Ensuring the standard of TDK is consistently high and on brand. 
  • Act as a role model for outstanding service; continuously working to elevate service standards, personally embodying hospitality in daily actions. 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1 year’s experience in management role in a fast-paced hospitality business. 
  • Phenomenal people skills (kind, patient and directive), upbeat and positive.
  • Being measured and calm with the ability to problem solve on the spot. 
  • Willingness to give and receive feedback. 
  • A love for hospitality with an interest/experience of working with diverse groups of people.
