ABOUT THE ROLE
Getjar will offer a vacancy to a candidate looking to start or continue their career in the construction industry, within the Formwork(reinforced concrete) sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Formwork training will cover practical principles in:
- Fabrication and repair of wooden and system formwork.
- Erect and strike: wooden and system formwork.
- Erect and strike: crane handled formwork (Proprietary systems like Peri).
- Working at height (once trained and experienced in site activities).
- Small tools operation.
- Awareness of site environment and movement of plant.
- Manual handling.
You’ll learn basic skills, knowledge, and awareness in:
- Interpreting information from Managers and Drawings.
- Risk assessments and method statements.
- Construction elements.
- Effective communication.
- Site communication.
- Earthworks activities.
- Working area protection.
- Health and safety.
The role involves:
- Daily strenuous physical activity.
- Working at height.
- Wearing PPE/RPE as required.
- Working to deadlines.
- Punctuality.
Training, supervision, and instruction on day-to-day requirements will be provided by site management team(Foreman and Supervisors)
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications, Knowledge & skills:
- GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
- As per council and Principal Contractors requirements.
- All candidates are expected to have a valid CSCS card.
- All candidates expected to have their own work boots and appropriate site attire – remaining PPE will be provided on site.

Additional Information
Probation period: All successful applicants will be placed on a probationary period (4 weeks), upon starting.
Hours: All successful candidates will be expected to be on site ready to start work at 08:00 and finish work at 17:30 for 5 days a week.
