ABOUT THE ROLE

The London Borough of Hackney is currently recruiting Estate Waste Operatives to join the team at Millfields Recycling Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to keeping Hackney clean, safe, and environmentally sustainable.

As an Estate Waste Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and waste management standards across housing estates and recycling facilities.

Duties will include:

  • Collecting and managing household and recyclable waste.
  • Maintaining cleanliness across estate areas and around waste facilities.
  • Supporting recycling operations at our depots.
  • Ensuring waste is disposed of safely and in line with environmental regulations.
  • Interacting with residents and providing a high level of customer service.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

We’re seeking reliable and hardworking individuals who:

  • Are physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Have a strong work ethic and take pride in maintaining clean environments.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Previous experience in waste collection, street cleansing, or estate services is desirable.
