ABOUT THE ROLE

A Scaffolding Labourer provides essential support to scaffolders by assisting with the erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding structures on construction sites. The role involves loading, unloading, moving, and organising scaffolding materials, maintaining a safe and tidy work area, and supporting the scaffolding team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The successful candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the scaffolding industry and progress towards formal scaffolding training and qualifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist scaffolders with the erection, alteration, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding structures in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Load, unload, transport, and distribute scaffolding materials, tools, and equipment around the site.
  • Ensure scaffolding components are stored safely and securely to prevent damage, loss, or hazards.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean, organised, and free from obstructions.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials and equipment required for daily site operations.
  • Follow instructions from Scaffolders, Advanced Scaffolders, Supervisors, and Site Management.
  • Adhere to all companies Health & Safety policies, site rules, and safe systems of work.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and report any defects or safety concerns immediately.
  • Support the team in carrying out manual handling activities safely and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely and on
    schedule.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and company procedures.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management in support of scaffolding operations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications, Knowledge & skills:

  • CSCS labourer card or Valid CISRS Labourer Card required.
  • Previous experience working in a construction, labouring, or outdoor working environment.
  • Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading scaffolding materials.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within the construction industry.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high attendance standards.
