ABOUT THE ROLE
CIS have an exciting opportunity for a Ground Security Supervisor, who will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership and direction to the Security Teams, supporting the safe and effective operation of the park 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The role provides clear and timely communication on key operational and customer service matters and ensures guests and staff are always protected.
The LLDC East Bank is a major development within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, bringing together cultural, educational, commercial and community organisations.
The area provides a busy and varied environment, requiring a professional security operation to support staff, visitors, contractors and the wider park community.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Brief ground officers correctly so they can effectively carry out their daily duties.
- Manage officer allocation during operating hours and events, including break relief.
- Ensure all incidents are managed effectively through to completion and are correctly logged.
- Ensure enforcement of park rules, by-laws and Parking Enforcement requirements.
- Complete and check all reports.
- Ensure life-safety equipment and other security equipment is in working order and ready for use.
- Complete weekly and monthly audits.
- Maintain standards of dress, safety and presentation across the QEOP Security Team.
- Manage staff misconduct matters and monitor staff time and attendance.
- Provide day-to-day management and supervision of ground officers.
- Ensure ground officers complete patrol routes and check all required equipment and locations in line with patrol routes, intelligence and briefings.
- Review the performance and quality of ground staff monthly to maintain high performance standards.
- Provide continued training and coaching to ground staff to enhance performance and provide job enrichment.
- Be fully conversant with the methods of working for all equipment and ensure standards are appropriate for the property.
- Assist with the recruitment process for new staff.
- Ensure all staff receive the required level of supervision.
- Conduct and monitor 3/6-month reviews and annual appraisals.
- Ensure staff are site trained and have signed the Assignment and Procedure Instructions.
- Ensure updated Assignment and Procedure Instructions are followed and raise corrective actions where they are not.
- Ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled and escalate issues or concerns to the Security Team Manager.
- Handle day-to-day enquiries relating to the security operation of the park.
- Show initiative and respond proactively to operational requirements.
- Carry out any other reasonable request from the Management Team.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Valid SIA CCTV Licence is desirable.
- A full driving licence is desirable.
- Security industry experience is required, with an understanding of licensing, events, public spaces and corporate environments.
- Ability to contribute to a team and work effectively using your own initiative.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within the organisation.
- Complete working knowledge of all relevant systems, processes and procedures.
- Experience in managing people and challenging situations.
- Skilled negotiator with the ability to resolve issues.
- Decisive and assertive decision makers, able to prioritise actions and achieve required results.
- Excellent report-writing and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude towards dealing with people and taking on challenges.
- Understanding of large mass participation events would be an advantage.
- Be confident you can undertake 100% of all specific duties
- Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested.
