Ardmore is offering a 3 months paid work placement, where you will be able to work as a Construction Manager and Project Manager. You will be working on site and will report to the current Senior Construction Manager and Project Manager.

Possible extension for further 3 more months.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ardmore are offering a structured 12-week placement for individuals looking to gain first-hand experience in construction management. This opportunity is ideal for those holding a construction-related qualification and eager to learn by shadowing and assisting experienced site and project managers on live construction sites. 

You’ll be immersed in real project environments, observing day-to-day operations and playing a supportive role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of key construction activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shadow experienced Site and Construction Manager to gain insight into day-to-day construction management tasks. 
  • Assist in coordinating subcontractors and trades on-site under supervision. 
  • Help with monitoring site progress and updating basic documentation. 
  • Support with health & safety checks, inductions, and toolbox talks. 
  • Observe and assist in site inspections, quality control, and snagging. 
  • Join meetings and site walk arounds to understand communication and planning processes. 
  • Provide general assistance with daily site operations, logistics, and reporting. 
  • Learn about construction sequencing, material deliveries, and programme requirements. 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Skills & Qualification

  • A minimum of one construction-related qualification (e.g. CSCS card, BTEC, NVQ, HNC/HND, or degree in construction or civil engineering). 
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a career in construction management. 
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn from others. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions. 
  • Awareness of site safety and professional conduct.
