ABOUT THE ROLE
To provide a professional level of customer service in the daily operation of the leisure centre catering facilities to maximise sales, ensuring that this service is delivered in accordance with quality assurance and specifications, legislation and standards of Everyone Active.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Able to deliver exceptional standards of customer service.
- Be organised, methodical and capable of working under pressure.
- Must be outgoing, friendly and be able to assist with all our customers’ needs.
- Accurately take orders and payments.
- Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
Service Development
- To ensure all financial transactions are undertaken as per the cash handling guidelines and balance at the end of each shift.
- To maximise food, beverage and vending sales through up-selling in a customer focus manner.
- To ensure vending machines are emptied and reconciled at least twice per week following the food and beverage manual guidelines.
- Ensure there is no unauthorised use of vending machine keys and they are signed in and out.
- Support the centre’s work towards Quest, IiP, ISO 14001/45001, 18001 and other awards.
Facilities Maintenance
- Wear uniform as per the company standard.
- Ensure the counter area is kept presentable, clean and well stocked.
- Ensure vending machines are in clean, working order and fully stocked.
- Ensure stock rotation occurs in all areas of food and beverage operations.
- Prepare food as set out in the food and beverage manual ensuring correct portion control is maintained.
- Ensure party food is prepared and served as per the party packs.
- Have a full understanding of, and implement hygiene legislation governing the preparation, handling and storage of food and drinks.
- To clean and maintain all equipment within the department daily and record this in the food and beverage temperature logbook.
- Accept deliveries (taking temperatures as appropriate) and record in the food and beverage temperature logbook.
- Follow statutory and company hygiene and health; safety procedures within your designated area.
- Undertake temperature checks of fridge, freezers and high risk food and record this in the food and beverage temperature logbook.
- Clean all front of house areas regularly to ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
- Follow all opening and close-down procedures and record this in the food and beverage temperature logbook.
- To follow all Health and Safety guidance and safe systems of work whilst undertaking tasks.
- Take appropriate action when identifying faults and hazards following all H&S procedures.
- Achieve standards described in operations manuals.
- Ensure daily operational checklists are completed.
- Ensure equipment setups are completed safely, to the required standard and on time.
- Ensure all energy reduction actions are undertaken on a daily basis throughout your shift.
- To follow Emergency Action Plan procedures at site.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Level 1 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or gained within the agreed timescale).
- Basic Catering Knowledge.
- Substantial hospitality / catering experience (min one year).
- Level 2 Hospitality Team Member (or equivalent).
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent) (desirable).
