The V&A Marketing & Insight Department is responsible for building the V&A brand and nurturing audience relationships across the UK and globally.
With a fully integrated approach to all aspects of marketing, insight and audience engagement, the team is responsible for delivery of their overall purpose:

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Marketing Manager, East leads the development and delivery of all marketing activity for V&A East and Storehouse, driving visits from a broad and diverse audience across exhibitions, events, learning programmes and the wider public offer.
The postholder is the central point of marketing leadership for both venues, working collaboratively across the museum to ensure activity is audience-led, strategically aligned and consistently on-brand.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Marketing Planning & Delivery: Develop, manage and deliver impactful marketing plans for V&A East and Storehouse, ensuring activity supports agreed priorities and connects a broad and diverse audience with the full range of experiences at the museum. Contribute to meeting East and Storehouse–specific visitor volume, diversity and box-office targets.
- Audience-Led Campaign Development: Use audience insight and data to shape targeting and messaging, ensuring campaigns reach the right audiences at the right time and support growth in diverse participation.
- Exhibition Marketing & Creative Delivery: Lead marketing for V&A East Museum exhibitions, delivering compelling creative that drives box office results and sharing key plans and learnings across the organisation. Take responsibility for driving traffic to the relevant exhibition landing pages on the main website. Briefing and managing creative agencies, design teams and media agencies as required.
- Team Management: Lead and support the Venue Marketing Executive, ensuring clear priorities, effective ways of working and high-quality outputs.
- Brand Stewardship: Serve as brand guardian for V&A East and V&A Storehouse, ensuring all marketing and communications uphold V&A brand values, tone of voice and visual identity.
- Integrated Communications: Collaborate with Communications, Social and CRM teams to ensure a joined-up approach across earned, owned and paid channels, maintaining alignment and consistency.
- Customer Journey & Growth: Partner with Customer Growth Marketing and CRM teams to support a seamless customer journey across ticketing, membership and commercial touchpoints. Take responsibility for driving traffic to relevant pages on the website for East Museum and Storehouse.
- Learning, Families & Young People: Collaborating with the Learning Marketing Executive to deliver campaigns that attract schools, young people and families, ensuring learning-focused activity is accessible, inclusive and aligned with wider museum priorities.
- Audience Engagement & Memberships: Work closely with Audience Engagement and Membership teams to ensure V&A East and Storehouse messaging is clear, accurate and consistent across on-site and member communications.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Job specific
- A proven track record in delivering impactful marketing campaigns in a consumer, culture or visitor-focused environment, using both digital and traditional channels.
- A strong understanding of East London’s cultural landscape and community organisations, and how to engage audiences across the boroughs served by V&A East.
- Experience planning and delivering campaigns informed by audience insight, with an ability to reach diverse audiences and contribute to visitor and diversity targets.
- Strong experience in creative development and working with agencies/designers to produce high-quality, on-brand creative — ideally including exhibition or event marketing.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and projects, with strong organisational skills and a calm, solutions-focused approach.
- Confident using data to guide decisions, evaluate campaign performance and share learnings clearly across an organisation.
- Curious, culturally engaged and up-to-date with developments across marketing, digital and audience engagement.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build credibility across teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with colleagues across exhibitions, learning, membership, CRM and visitor-facing functions.
