Workstation is offering a two-week paid work placement, where you will be able to gain an insight and hands-no experience across three main departments (Sales, Operations, and Design).

The paid placement will take place in November 2025 (start date to be agreed).

ABOUT WORKSTATION

We are a furniture consultancy that helps businesses and organisations design, procure, and fit out their spaces. We offer expert advice, product sourcing, and project management to deliver tailored, effective solutions.

This two-week work placement will give a young person the chance to gain hands-on experience across three key departments: Sales, Operations, and Design.

Sales:

During their time with the Sales team, the person will experience various roles—from account management to consultancy and support. They will assist with day-to-day tasks such as handling customer enquiries, researching products, preparing quotes, and completing administrative duties.

Operations:

Within the Operations team, the person will gain insight into the role of a project manager. They will learn about project planning, scheduling, logistics, and on-site installations, helping ensure everything runs smoothly from order to delivery. They’ll also be introduced to delivery tracking systems and supplier coordination processes.

Design:

While working with the Design team, the person will be introduced to industry-standard software, furniture rendering, space planning, and the legal requirements related to interior design. This is a valuable opportunity to explore how creative design translates into practical, commercial environments.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the placement, the person will have gained:

  • An understanding of the full sales process.
  • Skills in stakeholder communication and relationship management.
  • Exposure to product knowledge and space planning.
  • Time management and organisational experience.
  • Basic familiarity with CRM systems and business tools.
  • Insight into how teams collaborate to deliver successful projects.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS (what we are looking for)

We’re looking for a young person who is:

  • Aged between 16-30 years old.
  • Detail-oriented and organised.
  • A good communicator, with basic computer skills.
  • Friendly, polite, and eager to learn.
  • Interested in design, interiors, or the furniture industry. (advantageous)

This work placement is office based.

Working hours – Mondays – Thursdays; 9.30-5.30pm, with an hour paid lunch.

Location – Old Street, London N1 7RF.
