Built to host London 2012, the former Olympic Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is home to West Ham United Football Club and UK Athletics.

With rock concerts through the intervening months, our versatile venue has also seen us host the Rugby World Cup, international and domestic Rugby Union, The Race of Champions, the RFL Four Nations and was home for the first Major League Baseball games to be played in Europe.

ABOUT THE ROLE

London Stadium is looking for a Safety Coordinator to join the team. The key purpose of this role is to assist the LS185 Staffing & Planning Manager and Safety Officer in providing strong event day steward and security staff recruitment, contract engagement, training and ongoing booking and administration all London Stadium major events.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Staffing & Planning Manager and Safety Officer to take responsibility for the staffing of major events.
  • Work closely with the crowd safety team on relevant areas of crowd safety and health and safety legislation.
  • To support our staffing scheduling system, planning and staff management system for event staff.

As Safety coordinator at the London Stadium, you will be an organised g professional with excellent communication skills and attention to detail with staffing major events, ranging from Football, concerts, Athletics.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Staffing & Planning Manager and Safety Officer to take responsibility for the staffing of major events.
  • Work closely with the crowd safety team on relevant areas of crowd safety and health and safety legislation.
  • To administer the Venue Aware planning and staff management system for event staff.
  • To administer production of all documentation for stewards.
  • To administer all logistics relating to the event day crowd safety team.
  • To build good working relationships with safety suppliers and agencies.
  • Work all major events in such positions as are relevant to the role e.g. staffing check in, logistics, staffing deployment etc.
  • Adhere to the procurement process and ensure that all Purchase Orders / financial information is entered accurately in line with the deadlines communicated by the Finance Department.
  • Ensure budgets, orders, costs and stewarding rates are regularly monitored.
  • To administer production of all documentation for in-house, external suppliers stewards.
  • Take responsibility for your own Health and Safety requirements.
  • Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet London Stadium changing priorities.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Have experience in administration at venues or similar organisations.
  • Have a good understanding and knowledge of crowd safety legislation.
  • Have an understanding of how health, safety and risk management systems operate.
  • Experience working with a venue staffing system and an understanding of staff ingress.

Essential Skills

  • The ability to engage and communicate with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Excellent proficiency in computer literacy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel).
  • Experience in using staffing platforms.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
