BMS Scaffolding is recruiting for a Scaffolder to work on the Eastwick & Sweetwater project/site, at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

ABOUT BMS SCAFFOLDING

Established in 2013, BMS Scaffolding Limited are a scaffolding contractors operating from our head depot and offices based in Rainham, Essex. Our new Ipswich depot is now fully operational and greatly improves our service to the Suffolk and East Anglia regions.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding structures safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect and maintain scaffolding equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to understand project requirements and provide necessary scaffolding support.
  • Read, understand and follow scaffold drawings and construction plans to accurately position scaffolding.
  • To ensure the company is appropriately represented, establish and maintain Client/Customer relations and promote safe working and professional conduct at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements, working to exceed minimum requirements and maintaining standards of workmanship in accordance with Company Policies and Approved Codes of Practice.
  • Adhere to safe systems of work, read, understand and follow method statements, risk assessments, reasonable instructions and follow manufacturers literature in respect of any equipment, tools and materials provided for use at work.
  • Maintain qualifications i.e. CSCS/CISRS/DBS (Where necessary).

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Good communication.
  • Able to listen and follow instructions.
  • Reliable and willing to learn.

BMS do not have apprentices as such, the Scaffolding industry operates slightly differently, in so far as individuals wishing to progress  a  career in the scaffolding industry they begin their journey by enrolling upon a COTS training course, (CISRS Operative Training Scheme) and developing their skills, progressing by way of both theoretical and practical training, the CISRS Scaffolding Tube and Fitting Part 1 / Part 2 respectively and attending a final assessment, achieving a Level 2 National Vocational Qualification before applying for their Scaffolding Card (Blue Card).
