ABOUT THE ROLE
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer who will work in various sites in the Hackney Area, who will demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users.
CIS requires Officers to be SIA licenced and willing to work in environments such as Local government buildings, estates and corporate sites and able to stand for a long period of time.
Officers must be flexible in hours and in the approach to daily duties.
- Safeguarding the premises, people and assets.
- Excellent Customer Service.
- CCTV Surveillance (if a licenced role).
- Security Systems knowledge.
- Internal & External Patrolling.
- Fire Marshalling duties.
- Incident Management.
- First Aid, Concierge Duties.
- Reception cover.
- Maintaining access and egress for emergency vehicles at all times.
- Ensuring entrances and exits are not blocked or access restricted and providing a 5* service to the public and clients.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Have the flexibility to work days, night or weekends.
- Able to demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users.
- Must be able to be on site 15 minutes prior to shift start time.
- To take all reasonable and required measures to protect the venue, staff and customers.
- To remain alert throughout the shift and use SCaN training to identify and report any suspicious behaviour.
- Use conflict management and if necessary, PI skills to deescalate/resolve any incidents.
- Carry all duties as per assignment instructions.
- Enforce any site-specific procedures.
- To convey a smart, well-groomed appearance in approved uniform, provide a first-class customer service and display high levels of vigilance throughout a shift.
- To ensure great teamwork at all times always demonstrating a “can do” approach.
- To efficiently report any maintenance issues IT or Health and Safety concerns to the relevant departments.
- To assist in any other reasonable duties as required.
- To be aware of, and report, any incidents or suspicious activities in person or via radio communications or telephone to control a room.
- To portray a friendly, professional and courteous demeanour always, using open and appropriate body language.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Static Guarding or Door Supervisor SIA Licence is essential.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Security Experience is desired, but not essential.
- Physically fit to complete patrols internally and externally.
- Excellent levels of customer service & communication at all times.
- Must have a good command of the English Language.
- Reliable, confident and committed.
- To have a smart appearance befitting the company.
- Flexible in the approach to daily duties.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have a calm personality capable of controlling difficult situations.
- Be confident you are able to undertake 100% of all specific duties.
- Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested.
- SIA CCTV licence (desirable).
- First Aid qualification (desirable).

Location: Various sites within Hackney / Local government buildings, estates and corporate sites.
Pay Rate: £13.85 per hour (increasing to £14.80 as of 1 st April 2026)
Hours: Average 40 hours per week
Shifts: Various days, nights & weekends
